Sew Book Inspired - Seams Unlikely, a Wonderful Story About Courage and Persistence
/
This isn't my typical "Sew the Library" post. There aren't any patterns or sewing instruction. The book I want to share with you today is Nancy’s Zieman autobiography, Seams Unlikely, the Inspiring True Life Story of Nancy Zieman.
Nancy Zieman (aka Nancy's Notion, aka Sewing with Nancy) is probably the most well-known face in the world of educational sewing. For over thirty years she has come into our homes via TV to teach us, inspire us, and to encourage us.
Nancy’s autobiography covers everything from her struggle with health issues, including Bell’s Palsy at 14 months and knee problems in high school , to the beginning of Nancy’s Notions and TV show, Sewing with Nancy. Part of the reason I wanted to share this book this month is because Nancy is again facing a health issue. She is doing so with her characteristic grace, faith in God, and courage.
Seams Unlikely is the story of a woman who knew where her passion lies and worked hard to achieve success. It is the story of a woman who put God and family first and knew how to work hard to get where she wanted to be.
Let me leave you with this quote of Nancy's and encourage you all to read the book.
Each of us faces challenges in life. Some are bigger than others. But what happens to us, does not define who we are, unless we let it.
