A Disneyland vacation is often an once-in-a-lifetime vacation. Parents around the world often invest a substantial amount of time and money taking their children to Disneyland, and our goal is to help make that time truly magical. Planning and preparation before you go can help you get the most out your Disneyland adventure. To prepare you for this and to get the most for your money, here are some suggestions for must read books:
One of the most popular Disney guides on the market, this book will arm you with all sorts of great strategies. It makes Disneyland one of the most accessible theme parks in the world. This book is constantly being updated and the 2017 edition is available now. The most helpful to me were the pre-planned itineraries that help you avoid the lines. There are maps and detailed information regarding each attraction. There is a restaurant index, notes and info on all of the hotels in the resort area both on and off the grounds, and tons of good data on the live shows that are such a plus when visiting the parks. The tips in the book are excellent.
A little-known secret of the Disney theme parks is the “Hidden Mickeys.” Images of Mikey Mouse were concealed all around the park and resort hotels by Disney’s Imagineers and designers in the 1970’s and 80’s. Today, finding the nearly 500 Hidden Mickeys has turned into a fun game with a cult-like following. I am a sucker for scavenger hunts but I’m not the only one. We saw lots of people carrying the Hidden Mickey books. The book even has a section for little kids called, “Finding Hidden Mickeys without Scavenger Hunting.”
No one likes to stand and wait but there’s plenty of that at Disneyland. This book and companion app are not only fun–they are a life-saver! The book and app are both loaded with scavenger hunts and checklists for each ride that really help time pass. This new edition includes activities for every line in the Disneyland and California Adventure theme parks, including those in the popular Cars Land area.
Ever since Disneyland opened in Anaheim, California in 1955, Disney’s Imagineers have worked nonstop to make sure every family enjoys a magical experience. This book reveals tons of behind-the-scenes tidbits about the theme park, along with fascinating facts that make it the Happiest Place on Earth. The book is filled with bright photos, fun quizzes, and information on everything from Main Street, U.S.A. to Mickey’s Toontown and Frontierland. It’s the perfect guide for planning the perfect visit! It will definitely give the whole family a deeper appreciation and love of the park (and Walt Disney).
This is an eBook and it’s free. It is the ultimate guide to building a vacation fund from $0 to Disney. You will find great tips on how to save for a Disneyland vacation and how to save during a Disneyland vacation. This is a book filled with all of the money saving strategies from hotels and food ideas to trip length and ticket tips. There were great ideas to keep costs down while still having a great time and feeling like you’re on vacation.
Disneyland is a great family vacation. They call it the “Happiest Place on Earth” for good reason. These books can help make your vacation the best vacation of your life. I hope you enjoy your trip to Disneyland!
