This time of year can often feel like the best time, as we surround ourselves with the one’s we love and make our spirits bright. It is also a time to give thanks, acknowledge life’s challenges, and celebrate our triumphant achievements. Although this year isn’t officially over yet, now is a time to set my goals for 2017. Knowing what my readers are reading helps me set my editorial calendar for next year. So let’s dive into my 5 most popular posts for 2016. It helps give me an idea of what my readers enjoyed so I can plan to deliver more posts like them in 2017.
How to Sew a Gorgeous Set of Pattern Weights June 24, 2015. This is my #1 most popular post in 2016. To me it’s surprising because I wrote it in 2015. (It was also my most popular post in 2015.)
10 Commandments of a Potluck November 22, 2016 This must have struck a chord with my readers. It was my #2 post. The interesting thing is that my post on Pattern Weights had a whole year of availability but this post was just published in November of this year.
5 Awesome Things to Do with Kids in Our National Parks August 24, 2016 This is one of my favorite posts. It was published to honor the 100th birthday of the National Park Service. I love our national parks and try to visit them every chance I get. You will be seeing more on the national parks I visit in my 2017 blog posts. In fact travel articles did well in 2016. More of them just didn’t make it into the top 5.
How to Sew the Very Versatile Drawstring Pouch June 26, 2015 I think this one did so well because it was a companion piece to my Pattern Weights post. Although…my nephew, Patrick, calls ne the Queen of Pouches (not sure if it a compliment.) He said until he started reading my blog he didn’t know there were that many different styles of pouches. Just do a search of my website and read all the posts on fabulous pouches from the last two years.
Basic Sewing Essentials – How to Clean Your Sewing Machine September 23, 2015 This is another post from 2015 that did well in 2016. I am constantly surprised at the number of people seeking this information.
If you’re new here and haven’t read any of these posts, sit back and sift through my most popular posts of 2016. What do you want to see more of?
I can’t wait to see what 2017 brings for me and this little old blog of mine.
Wishing all of you and your loved ones the brightest and best 2017!
